How it plays
Each player has five colored cups. A card is revealed showing the order in which the colors must be stacked (vertical) or lined up (horizontal). Everyone builds at the same time; whoever finishes slaps the bell. If the arrangement is correct, the card is yours.
What it trains
Speed Cups trains visual-spatial processing under time pressure: the card image must be grasped, translated into a sequence of actions and executed by hand – with vertical and horizontal alternating, which demands constant mental switching. Speed here comes from better processing, not from luck.
Community voices: A fixture in many game collections and classrooms; the fair contest ("whoever sees faster, wins") draws praise. Most common community tip: play on a cloth surface – kinder to ears and tabletop.
Our tip for parents: Great as a duel of child versus parent – with a handicap for the grown-ups.
