How it plays
Vehicles are placed on the board according to the challenge card. By sliding them back and forth – never lifting, never turning – the path for the ice cream truck to the exit has to be cleared. 40 challenges from beginner to expert, with the solution on the back of each card.
What it trains
Rush Hour Jr. is applied planning training: push pieces around at random and you jam yourself in – think two or three moves ahead and you get through. Children practice systematic trial-and-error, error analysis and tolerating "not solved yet". The difficulty curve is finely tuned.
Community voices: The junior version of the most praised logic game of all; teachers use it in support lessons and parents report the "just one more card!" effect. Hardly any criticism – occasionally a wish for extra challenges, which actually exist as expansion packs.
Our tip for parents: Have your child "think out loud" ("First the truck has to...") – it boosts the planning effect.
